How to Make Your Hair Wavy With a Straightener

It might sound like an oxymoron, but the truth is that you can make your hair wavy by using a simple straightener from the store. In fact a straightener is the perfect accessory for those who want to be able to have different looks without having to use a bunch of different things like curling irons and hair dryers. It’s amazing the things you can do with a simple hair straightener.

Getting Those Waves Going

In order to get the waves that you desire, you want to start off by getting the hair straightener hot. Plug it in and let it warm up for at least 10 minutes. While it’s getting hot, brush or comb your hair until it’s smooth to the touch and easy to work with. Make sure no knots are left behind.

Go over your hair once with the straightener until all of your hair is nice and straight. There are a couple of ways to get your hair wavy with a straightener. The first is to twist the hair into twirls and then press those twirls of hair with the straightener. This will provide a sleek and fun wavy hairstyle. The other way is to start at the root of your hair with the device. Slowly work your way down the hair by flipping the straightener back and forth in your hand so that it creates waves as you go.

Put it into a ponytail, wear it back in a clip, or wear it as it is. It doesn’t really matter because they’re all cute styles. You can’t go wrong with this hairstyle weather wearing it to work or out for a night with great friends. It’s simple and fun to do, which makes it a perfect style to consider any day of the week.

Can you Flat Iron Wet Hair?

We have received this question more than once, so we have decided to answer it here. Bottom line is that you can flat iron wet hair, but you absolutely should not do it unless you are using a wet dry flat iron made to take on wet hair. Using a standard flat iron on wet hair can potentially cause damage to your hair follicles, drying them out, damaging the strands, causing frizzy hair and give you unhealthy looking hair. It can also do some serious damage to the flat iron itself and lead to poor performance of the iron.

Wet hair is very delicate and vulnerable meaning it’s subject to more breakage and damage then when it’s dry. Using a very hot iron will damage and fry your hair because of the intense heat required to stay on the wet hair to make it dry. There are a few wet to dry flat irons that you can use that use a lower temperature that won’t damage hair, but its best to use a quality iron, like the solia flat iron and use it on dry hair to acheive that beautiful hair you want.

If you are looking for a way to avoid additional damage like blow drying hair, then flat ironing hair- its best to let hair air dry after the shower and then take the flat iron over it once its dry or about 95% dry. Once dry or nearly dry start ironing one small section of hair at a time. This will lead to perfectly smooth, straight hair and the look that you want.

The Chi Flat Iron

The highly popular Chi flat iron is manufactured by Farouk Systems Inc. based in Houston, Texas. There are four models of Chi flat irons, such as the original, the nano, the mini, and the turbo. Each of the models are made with different features that are designed for different uses.

All Chi flat irons have a ten foot heavy duty power cord, and the power cord has a 360 degree swivel that helps prevent tangles. The best thing about Chi flat irons is that they only use 20 to 25 watts of power, which helps save electricity.

Some of the Chi flat iron models are made with wider ceramic plates up to 2 inches wide, which makes straightening thick, long hair a breeze. The hair irons also have variable heat control that can be used to achieve different results. The Nano model can actually sterilize itself, which means that it does not allow bacteria to grow on it. This makes the Nano an excellent model to use in salons or if it is going to be shared.

Another great thing about them is that they heat up in less than one minute, and the ceramic plates of the irons are able to maintain even heat. Since ceramic plates are used, they help ensure hair moisture balance and reduce friction, and therefore, reducing frizzy hair and flyaways.

Chi flat irons are great for home and professional use. They are made of high quality materials, thus, ensuring that you get the best results while keeping your hair healthy. Better quality materials also mean that the Chi flat irons will last longer than generic straightening irons, and they are also safer to use. If you are looking for the chi flat iron official website you can find it at Farouk.com

The only downside to the Chi flat irons is that they end up not working after a few years, perhaps due to frequent uses or lack of cleaning and maintenance. However, they do come with warranties.

Using A Hair Straightener To Curl Hair

Many people love using hair straighteners because it makes their hair soft, sleek, and fly away free, not to mention straight. But would you be surprised that you can also get beautiful curls and flips with a flat iron that also helps to maintain that sexy, shiny look while keeping hair healthy? Most people are, but they are more than willing to understand, because we all know that beauty tools serving more than one purpose are truly valuable.

Quality hair straighteners, like the solia flat iron with a rounded beveled plate come in a variety in sizes. Some are no larger than an inch and others a few inches wide. Depending on the width of your curling iron, this will tell you what type and size curls you can achieve with it. Also the amount of hair you use while curling will give you either tight or bouncy curls.

To start curling your hair with a flat iron, divide up your hair into four sections and place them up with barrettes or away from the rest of the hair. Start with your first section and take about inch width of strands and wrap it around the flat iron’s plate. Start as high or as low on your head as you want to begin your curls. Once you have wrapped that hair around the plate, gentle press down on the handle and close the plate on the hair. Then slowly pull the iron down until every strand of hair has been heated…. and voila- beautiful curls! Do this to the rest of your hair and you see amazing, flowing, gorgeous curls that are not frizzy and very natural looking. It may take some time to get used to curling your hair with a hair straightener but once you are accustomed to it you will never need that old curling iron again! For some additional guidance and tips, check out the video below.
